There is an immediate need for a BSW or MSW to act as an advocate for women who are victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence. This position is located in St. Charles, MO.  This role is a full time, temporary position, lasting approximately three months.  There is the potential that this could become a permanent position at the end of three months. Standard hours are 8:30-5:00 with the potential for a need to be on call once a month. 


The advocate is responsible for supporting and delivering the services provided by the Crisis Intervention Team. The primary function is to serve as an advocate for victims with community agencies, law enforcement, court personnel and other entities as needed.  Additional tasks include:


  • Providing crisis intervention, safety planning, case management, court advocacy and consultation over the phone or in face-to-face situations.  Assisting with coverage of the drop-in center and crisis line.
  • Facilitating support groups, workshops and community education to survivors, their families and/or community professionals.
  • Maintaining appropriate and required records, evaluations and statistics; completed in a timely manner.  Submitting monthly statistical information to comply with funding requirements.
  • Regularly attending staff and agency meetings/trainings.
  • Attending community and professional meetings as needed.
  • Assisting with coverage of calls, warrant applications, law enforcement advocacy response when needed.
  • Assisting with volunteer trainings, meetings and events when needed.
