Anne Wright Schmidt, MSW, LCSW
Chicago Coordinator

Anne Wright Schmidt holds a Master's Degree in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago and a BA in History and Religion from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. Anne's professional social work experience has been varied, with experience in inpatient and outpatient mental health settings, international adoption and pediatric medical social work. In addition, she maintains a private practice. She regularly attends association meetings, networks with social work schools, and plans continuing education workshops and training. Anne joined Social Work p.r.n. in 2004.

Cassie Desir, MSW, LSW
Assistant Coordinator

Cassie Desir holds a Master's Degree in Social Work and a BA in Sociology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Cassie's professional social work experience has primarily involved providing advocacy and counseling services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault while educating the community on these issues. Cassie has supervised staff and interns in various settings, and has volunteered her time working with homeless women and providing grief support to bereaved families. Cassie has a passion for making jewelry and using art to facilitate healing and social change. She joined Social Work p.r.n. in 2014.

This January, changes to the NASW Code of Ethics will go into effect. The changes to teh Code, the first since 2008, include some of the most significant changes since the 1996 version of the Code was approved. Learn more about the recent amendments here

Social Work p.r.n. Offers Group Supervision

Do you want to become licensed as an LCSW (or LSW if you hold your BSW) and don’t know where to get the necessary supervision?

Do you currently receive supervision at your place of employment and this supervision does not fulfill the licensing requirements?

Do you want to jump start your career by becoming licensed?

We can help.  Social Work p.r.n. offers group supervision on Wednesday evenings here in our office in Oak Park.  Our group clinical supervision meets the requirements of the Illinois Departments of Professional Regulation for persons seeking licensure as Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) and if you have a BSW, as Social Workers (LSW). The 2017 SSWLHC Illinois Chapter Annual Conference took place on Saturday, September 23rd at Brookdale Lake Shore Drive. 

Speakers discussed social workers as leaders in the health care field, using CPT codes to reimburse social work services, ethics in genetic research, and health care updates on the state and federal level. Pictured is of the panel participants who spoke to how social work is integrating with and impacting health care. The Effect of Smartphones on the Younger Generation is Undeniable

This interesting article from The Atlantic discusses the shift in teen behaviors and emotional states with the increasing dependence upon smartphones and technology. The author describes how this generation, known as the "iGen", have been affected by smartphones, tablets and constant access to technology and information. Not only is this generation behaving differently than those before them, but their mental health is being affected in an entirely new way as well. 

Computerized practice test for the LSW or LCSW offered 

Social Work p.r.n. offers social workers the opportunity to prepare for the LSW or LCSW exam with a user-friendly, computer-based practice test. The program allows you to take practice exams and to review your missed/incorrect answers. Social Work p.r.n. also offers a study guide available for check out two weeks at a time.  The cost for these services is a one-time fee of $10.00 payable by cash or check when you arrive.  Practice tests are available by appointment only Monday through Friday during business hours.  Please call us at 708-383-2251 to schedule a time to come in to take the exam or check out the study guide.
