Description

Evidence Based Practice: An Ethical Responsibility

Presented by Jessica Tappana, MSW, LCSW

3.0 Clock Hours

This course meets the Ethics requirement for licensure renewal.

Evidence based practice is more than just the latest “buzz.”  It is in fact our ethical responsibility as social workers. This workshop will help social workers understand how the NASW code of ethics requires social workers to use interventions that have the best chance of helping clients and how that means becoming competent in evidence based practices to use in clinical work. Common barriers to providing evidence based interventions will also be discussed.

Educational Objectives:

1.Define evidence based practice

2.Apply the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) ethical standards to the concept of evidence based practice

3.Discuss common barriers to using evidence based interventions
