Learning Objectives 1. Recognize that language and word choices are integral to palliative practice and has the potential to create unintended consequences, creating distance when the goal is to create relationships
2. Utilize constructs such as testimonial injustice and delegitimization to inform communication whether in documentation or conversation.
3. Develop confidence and emerging comfort in intervening when language and word choice used in patient care reflects potential bias and any foster inequities.
