Professionals will have opportunity to examine their own personal biases & opinions surrounding decision making with aging, illness & end-of-life; & how that can shape conversations with families. Attention will be given to cultural considerations sensitive to these topics. Aging, Illness & End-of-Life will be addressed as it pertains to ethical decision making using vignettes as tools for discussion & problem solving. GRIEF: Will discuss
diagnoses in DSM5 pertaining to grief & loss & trauma; followed by a short explanation of various clinical treatments used to treat same. Majority of presentation will be on entering conversations, validating losses a person is experiencing & offering practical ideas to help live alongside loss. 6 contact hours/CEs.
